Squeeeeek No More Kit
The Squeeeeek No More kit is designed to stop floor squeaks from above the floor by going safely through the carpet. The kit works on all carpets even berber!
The Squeeeeek No More kit has 50 screws that are scored one inch from the head and coated with a special wax that allows the screw to safely pass through the carpet . The tooling, a tripod fixture and driver bit, drives the screw safely through the carpet stopping the score on the screw slighty below the wood of the floor. Then with the tripod fixture you snap the head of the screw off. The screw thread then holds the floor to the joist without having any part of the screw sticking up that you could walk on. The kit also includes 2 joist finding tools. You use these to quickly and accurately find the joist from above the floor. The Squeeeeek No More kit has been deomonstrated on "Ask This Old House" and many other fine television shows and magazines.
Counter-Snap hardwood screws for at the Joist
The Counter-Snap Hardwood Joist Screws are for stopping squeaks at the joist. The screw is designed, by having two different pitches, to pull the hardwood and the subfloor tight to the joist. This stops the movement and squeaks.
The screw is scored so when driven through the fixture it snaps 1/4 inch below the top of the hardwood. The small hole then can be filled with a wood filler to conceal the screw. The hole looks the same as the hole of a trim nail that is counter-sunk. The video, below, is the best way to see how the screw works.
Counter-Snap Hardwood floor screws for between the Joist
The Counter-Snap screws are designed to bind the hardwood floor and the subfloor together, stopping the movement and squeaks, then snap at the score that is set 1/4 inch below the hardwood flooring. Just fill the small hole with a wood filler to conceal it and you're done.
We make two screws to stop floor squeaks in hardwood floors. One screw is designed for use at the joist. This screw has two diferent pitches separated by a section where there is no thread. By having the screw designed this way we are able to have the screw pull the hardwood and subfloor tight to the joist.
The joist screw won't work between the joist because the separation of thread is greater than the thichness of the hardwood flooring and the subfloor. This I know seems confusing but it means that thread is only in the hardwood and not the subfloor so it cannot stop the movement.
We designed the Counter-Snap screws for between the joist to have thread in both boards at the same time. We use are weight to push the floor subfloor together then the fixture forces the head to snap off 1/4 inch below the top of the wood flooring. The video below helps to explain how the screws work.
The Counter-Snap package includes 50 scored screws, a snap off fixture, a square headed driver bit and complete instructions.
